Geiger's Vertical Solution has earned a reputation as an easy to set-up, very accurate and precise system for sharpening side-ground bowl gouges.
The Vertical Solution is an aftermarket product that slips directly into the receivers provided with the following systems:
• One Way Wolverine
• Penn State Industries
• Sharp-Fast
The Vertical Solution has a V-Notch that adjusts vertically which enables it to work, right out of the box, with bench grinders with various heights of axles.
A gage is included that enables setting a bevel angle to 60º easily and accurately. This gage needs to be used only during the initial set-up. The total set-up time for the entire system is typically less than 15 minutes.
A horizontal positioning gage is included that sets the position of the V-notch from the face of the grinding wheel accurately. This gage is used any time the V-notch position has been moved or if the wheel diameter has been changed through usage or dressing. The horizontal positioning gage contributes greatly to the precision of your grind.
A gage is included that is used to set the distance your gouge protrudes from your jig. This gage compensates for wear on your gouge. It too contributes greatly to the precision of your grind.
